Axed Circus Troupe In Britain’s Got Talent Foul Play Over Song Choice

As if we really needed any more proof that Mr. Cowell and his travelling band of criminals were any more salacious than already reported, circus supremo Gerry Cottle is now urging fellow Circus operators & performers to boycott Britain’s Got Talent after his own troupe, The Wookey Hole Turbo Jets were given a raw deal on last Saturdays show.

In an open letter, Cottle claims:

We were asked to perform on BGT & the researchers came down to see the show when we were in Hammersmith last year, even Stephen Mulhurn came along.”

They asked us to do our cycling act and to devise a spectacular 2 minute version for TV. We choreographed an act for them using modern upbeat music, an instrumental version of Bom Bom by Sam & the Womp, and on the night we were given three yes’ by the judges thinking we would qualify for the next round.

However, Cottle (67) was dumbstruck when the programme was aired on Saturday, as the 2 minute routine was reduced down to 20 seconds & the music was replaced by ‘Entrance of the Gladiators’ – an old fashioned circus song which gave the scene a completely different feel.

Cottle continued:

If Simon Cowell doesn’t like circuses & he hates these type of acts, why on earth do his researchers contact every circus in the UK asking them to perform on BGT? This will seriously damage our business.

This isn’t the first time Britain’s Got Talent has been accused of rigging the show – should we be surprised that the ultimate puppet master is taking us all for a ride?
