The Young Folk are playing two dates this May!
15th May @ Surya, London
20th May @ Gullivers, Manchester

You’ll be delighted to know that there is nothing typical about The Young Folk. Yes, the band members (Anthony Furey, vocals/guitar, Tony McLoughlin, bass/mandolin, Paul Butler, piano/vocals, and Karl Hand, drums/percussion) are of a certain youthful age, and yes, the songs they create are variants/ enhancements on what could be tethered under the term ‘folk’, but if you’re looking for very obvious reference points (or worse, clichés) then you’d best search elsewhere.

With a featured slot at Electric Picnic & The Cambridge Folk Festival The Young Folk
ended 2013 Opening for Midlake,their music featuring in a national advertisement
campaign for the Irish National Transport Authority and signing an International Publishing
deal with ARC Music UK.

This year will see this Irish Multi faceted Alt-Folk 4 piece perform at Midem Cannes
2014 , SXSW Texas and The Stampede City Sessions Calgary performing material from
their Current release The Little Battle and new material from their upcoming second album
due for release late 2014.
