Exciting new band of the day today goes to Domino Records signings White Lung who’ve just revealed the video for their new single Face Down which you can check out below.
The track is taken from their upcoming full-length album, Deep Fantasy, out June 16th via Domino. The band return to the UK next Thursday, May 22nd for a headline show at London’s 100 Club.
With musical echoes of Tsunami Bomb, X Ray Spex and Dead Kennedys, vocalist Mish Way snarls like a woman possessed over this gritty, thrashing punk anthem, adding a whiff of sexuality to an otherwise satisfyingly crusty affair – one of the most genuine tracks we’ve heard for a while and enough to make a jaded punk fan sit up and take notice.
“Basically, I had this really big vision for it where I wanted to rip off two different old videos, one involving Anthony Kiedis” explains the front woman of the new video “But then, I asked Pierce McGarry to do it and I knew he would have a totally different perspective and make it all “Pierce”, which was exactly what I wanted. His filming style reflects this L7 video I love “Stuck Here Again” and he turned it out.”
