Brighton’s highly unique “indie chamber folk” troupe Moulettes are set to release their third studio album ‘Constellations’ on June 2nd and have just revealed this stunning new animated video for latest single Lady Vengeance.
The album features a host of guest performances from legends Arthur Brown (“God of Hellfire”) and Herbie Flowers (Lou Reed/David Bowie) and contemporaries Blaine Harrison of Mystery Jets, sister act The Unthanks and Emma Richardson of Band Of Skulls, who features on Lady Vengeance.
Songwriter, cellist and front singer Hannah Miller commented on the band’s diversity recently when he said “People can listen to Moulettes and hear Shostakovich, Miles Davis, Pentangle, Pink Floyd, Bjork and Skrillex. That is where we’ve all come from…everyone shares in over 80 years of recorded music history”.
Their sweeping, maudlin and cinematic brand of indie folk certainly strikes a chord and does indeed reel in a whole host of influences from a wide spread of genres – fans of Bellowhead step this way and prepare to fall in love.
‘Constellations’ is released by Navigator Records on June 2nd.
