Listen: Powder Blue Cover The Rolling Stones

Not many bands can cover the Stones without making a ham-fisted job of it, so hats off to Powder Blue who hail from Saskatoon, deep in the belly of Canada near arctic country side.

That wilderness could have had some bearing on the desolate-sounding cover of Stones classic ‘Play With Fire’ that they’ve just put out; a nausea inducing mushroom trip through 60’s psychedelia with a stretched cassette tape quality that’s both unsettling and exhilarating.

Dark keys, lush reverbed guitars and warm harmonies – step through the looking glass and immerse yourself in a hypnotic whirlpool of fuzz pedals and hashish.
