Verses - Feel It Faster
Album Review

Verses – Feel It Faster

Having been ones to watch for quite a while, Verses have released their debut and it does all but tick every box. Laced with pounding drums, big choruses and memorable tracks, the band show a huge amount of promise, and that all their hard work has paid off.

Relentless touring are what this ban are known for, but the Brighton based rockers’ first offering shows that these guys have more than just energy behind them. Singles ‘Feel It Faster’ and ‘Live In The Sky’ were only a taster of what the 11 tracks had in store.

Songs such as ‘At The Roadside’ and ‘Colour Me In’ keep the momentum going, and vocalist Jason Danzelman is at his best throughout, going above and beyond what you’d expect from a debut. The latter track is possibly one of the best on the record, while ‘Cut It Down’ shows that Verses are able to slow things down with their version of a ballad.

‘To The Rooftop’ opens with a fun riff, while album closer ‘If We Stay’ brings everything to a head. It opens with a familiar drum beat, albeit slowed in tempo, before the band come together for one final bout. Each song on offer tells a different tale, and Danzelman is only happy to be your storyteller. We’re more than happy to listen.

British rock is peaking at the moment, and Verses are one of the contenders to really hone it in and be one of the major players in this movement. A stunning debut from the boys, who are relishing every one of the 40 minutes of the album. Leapfrogging over their peers, Verses are no longer the ones to watch, as we now have our eyes firmly fixed on the quartet.
