Camden Crawl Enters Voluntary Liquidation Leaving Artists Unpaid

Now-staple London inner-city festival The Camden Crawl returned last month with a noticeably more cutting-edge (and expensive looking) line-up, featuring the likes of Atari Teenage Riot, Mumdance and many other electronic acts.

Today it has been revealed, however, that the company appears to have gone into voluntary liquidation amidst a raft of accusations that it has left several artists and labels out of pocket, with no explanation offered.

One member of Mazes took to Twitter to vent his frustration as one of several artists left unpaid after their performances, while Invada Records reported that two of their bands were affected whilst the festival “point blank refused to pay advance deposits & used the #TrustUs mantra throughout.

An automatic reply to emails directed to the festival organisers warns that the festival “is experiencing financial difficulty”, adding that “it is with great regret that the Board has decided that there is no option but to place the Company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.

At the time of publication there is no official statement from the festival.
