Here’s a new one from newcomers Lowlakes in the form of ‘Now, She Said’ – taken from their debut album ‘Iceberg Nerves’ released in the UK on the 1st Sept.
“It’s a conceptual album that listeners could escape to” explains front man Tom Snowdon of the album, something abundantly clear on the beautifully sparse new single that’s bursting with interesting textures, ambient sounds and twinking piano all laced with Snowdon’s haunting and soulful vocals.
If you can imagine Anthony & The Johnson’s soundtracking an Icelandic noir detective series then you’re in the right ballpark – originally from Alice Springs in the central Australian desert, that sense of isolation carries perfectly into the vastness of their sound.
UK LIVE DATES:
23rd Sept – Rough Trade East (In-Store @ 1pm)
24th Sept – Old Blue Last, London (Communion gig)
26th Sept – Manchester/BETA at Gulivers
