Morain (muh-rain) follow up 2012’s ‘Are We Lost’ with their resolute sophomore
EP, ‘Worlds Apart’. The EP is available as a free download from www.morainmusic.com
The success of ‘Are We Lost’ (released on Futures’ Indigo Records) lead the Wakefield four-piece to spend 2013 writing, recording and relentlessly gigging. Highlights included a UK tour with Canterbury and a packed Club NME show at KOKO, London. In August they went back into the studio with long-standing confidant, Roni Szpakowski, and captured the four anecdotal tracks, which make up the ‘Worlds Apart’ EP.
The lyrical focus of ‘Worlds Apart’ is the feelings of losing grip on an emotional constant in your life and yet, in spite of the void, there is a realisation that light is at the end of the tunnel.
With euphoric melodies and infectious hooks galore, it comes as no surprise that the likes of HMV are strongly tipping the band in 2014.
“Their songs have a drive and power that most bands would take years to develop.” ‘Worlds Apart’ continues the story of one of Britain’s most exciting young rock bands. Tour dates to support the EP release will be announced in the near future.
Morain headline London’s Surya on the 16th July, with support from The Monday Project, Dear Life and Geoff Raggett. Tickets available from www.ticketwerk.co.uk
