A Quick Chat With Fizzy Blood

We caught up with Leeds boys Fizzy Blood who have just announced they will be hitting the road with legendary punks Dead Kennedys after a triumphant set at this year’s Download Festival – not a bad 2014 so far, let’s find out more…

When we first started playing music…
We were really, really young and really, really bad at our instruments

If we had to choose a new name for the band it would be…
“The Complainers” because…that’s all we do

We knew we were onto something when…
We put out our first single and suddenly everybody wanted to be our friend

Our biggest non-musical influences are…
Growing up in a small town and moving to a big city, things going wrong, having a lot of time/youth and no money to make the most of that

We’re most proud of…
The songs which we’ve written for our first release that will be out at the end of the year

Our ideal support slot would be…
Nirvana’s October ’93 tour, it’s got it all. Big cap rooms and essentially their greatest hits/when the ‘In Utero’ material was still fresh.

Something we haven’t achieved yet which we’d like to is…
To make a record on a large advance and sell out a tour.

Our favourite place to hang out is…
Paul’s kitchen

We can’t stop listening to…
Band Of Skulls – Himalayan

We’re not ashamed to admit that…
We do actually listen to Queens Of The Stone Age…a lot
