Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux – Fishman

Think you’ve heard all that rockabilly has to offer? Think again with this gothic, garage-tinged offering from Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux.

Trading in their early Kraut-rock and psychedelic influences for a sound that’s altogether meatier, as flavours of 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster collide with the mighty fuzz-stomp of Turbowolf and the freakshow rock of The Cramps to spine-tingling effect.

There’s plenty to love in the tortured, sqwuaking vocal and undead shimmy-shimmy-shake of the overdriven guitars on new single ‘Fishman’ – imagine Misfits lumbering about in full costume at a Northern Soul disco and you’re halfway to understanding the bizarre appeal of this genre shake up.

‘Fishman’ is taken from the band’s new EP ‘Mouth To Mouth’, to be released in the Autumn with a full UK tour.
