Introducing: Acre Tarn

Acre Tarn are exciting, mostly in that quietly understated way that makes them even more so than their peers.

The duo are, in their own words, “bound together with an unnerving love for the innovative and the potential of artistic exploration” and on their debut single ‘This Once’ it’s clear to see the results of such passion at their stunning best.

It’s a gargantuan sound that’s been compressed and then reduced down to its constituent parts, resulting in a dichotomy of minimalist and maximalist components all vying for attention – from the thumping electronic percussion, beating like blood in the ears, to the stripped-back song writing and dreamy vocal take.

“We’re not afraid of anything when we unleash our imagination” comment the duo “We love beauty and we want to create something beautiful. We’re explorers.”

If the rest of their forthcoming EP is as good as this, long may the expedition continue.

Acre Tarn release debut EP Clasp & Shake on the 29th of September through Tri-Tone
