Introducing: Subculture Sage
Some captivating new hip-hop today from hopefuls Subculture Sage on their debut self-titled EP which is out now on Twisted Heart Records. The London based duo are streaming it in full and you can check it out below.
Alongside Hawk House these guys are one of the most interesting new hip-hop acts we’ve come across recently as they blend the trippier aspects of Tyler The Creator with the menace of Death Grips, all set to a mellow electronica that evokes Massive Attack at their best.
Social commentary on youth, mischief and morality collides with a celebration of the UK’s urban multi-cultural communities across these six quirky tracks that pull in influence from dancehall, grime, house and more – it’s positively brimming with inspirational variety.
The duo have just been announced as the support act for Dead Prez’s UK tour in October as well as a slot at this year’s Bestival.
