Tim Wheeler Announces New Album & Streams ‘First Sign of Spring’

Ash front man Tim Wheeler always seemed like one of the good guys so we’re very pleased to see him back with a brand new solo record.

You can listen to ‘First Signs of Spring’ below, a decidedly more stripped back and folkier affair than previous efforts with a haunting spirit of Metallica’s One thrown in for good measure – maybe it’s only us that can hear Tim channeling Kirk Hammett in the reverb…

The track is taken from his first solo album, Lost Domain, a heartfelt and emotional response to the loss of his father George to dementia. Lost Domain is released on Sony Red on November 3rd and, if the rest of the album is anything like this, it’s set to be one of the most heartbreaking and breathtaking releases on the year.

“It was a really hard time,” he says of the past year “But the closeness within my family made it a powerful bonding time as well.”

Tim is supporting Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme at dementiafriends.org.uk and a portion of profits from the album will go to the charity.
