Introducing: Chalk

She might have been rudely and prematurely ousted from her Radio One slot but former Introducing presenter Jen Long isn’t wasting any time as her new label Kissability teams up with Sonic Anhedonic Recording Company to announce the return of Chalk, the musical endeavors of Brighton based songwriter, Steven Stride.

You can stream a brand new track from the album – ‘It’s Fine’ – below, which is available as a free download when you pre-order the album on any format, which you can do so HERE.

The new single sees Chalk compounding on the acoustic elements from his debut and expanding with a moody electronica that perfectly accompanies these introspective and arresting creations.

Each track pulses with a life of it’s own and offers a glimpse into the world of the tortured artist so well afforded by contemporaries like Modest Mouse, Mark Oliver Everett and Conor Oberst – tantalising stuff.

‘How To Become A Recluse’ is released on October 27th via Sonic Anhedonic on CD and Digital formats and Cassette Tape courtesy of Jen Long’s, Kissability.

See Chalk perform live on any of the following dates:

Sept 10th – London, The Sebright Arms ‘Kissability Presents’ w/Great Cynics
Oct 11th – Brighton, The Prince Albert w/ Tall Ships
Oct 27th – Brighton, The Prince Albert, Album Launch Show
Nov 22nd – Southend, Cool Thing Night Club
