Yellowcard - Lift A Sail
Album Review

Yellowcard – Lift A Sail

Yellowcard have come on leaps and bounds since they ended their hiatus a few years ago. Lift A Sail is their third release since then, and it shows a greater scope than anything they’ve done in the past. Taking the biggest step yet since the likes of Ocean Avenue and their pop-punk routes, the band have found a sound entirely their own.

Some choice tracks include ‘Transmission Home’ and the title track, where vocalist Ryan Key bring his voice to another level, while ‘Illuminate’ might be the best on the record. But with this track comes a severe divergence from what Yellowcard used to make a name for themselves.

This album is no Ocean Avenue, and so some fans might be left a little unhappy. But no one wants to do the same thing again – least of all Yellowcard. Instead, they’ve come up with Lift A Sail, an album all on its own and all the better for it.

Venue: Lift A Sail
Support Band: Razor And Tie Records
