Zombeavers Review

zbWhat do you get if you cross a quiet American river, inhabited with some cute little beavers and a 200lt drum of fluorescent green toxic waste? You guessed it, 85 mins of laughs, gore, teen sex and beavers…. Zombeavers!

Spending a weekend away from the boys in a quiet retreat in the country, 3 girls spend their days sun bathing and their evenings playing dare and talking about boys. Pretty standard stuff! Then mid-way through the girl’s only weekend, the boys show up! Scare the girls, get drunk, have sex.. Standard.

What happens next is going to be anything but the norm, when the couples find themselves fighting for their lives when they are attacked by the living dead beavers.

Zombeavers is a great homage to the B movies of days gone by and has a great mix of humour (some side splitting, some not so much) excellent savage killer flesh eating zombie beavers that just don’t give up in hunting their pray and a feel that the movie wouldn’t be out of place had it have been made 30 years ago.

The film wastes no time at all in getting started with the gore and with a fairly short run time, it doesn’t over stay its welcome and keeps the watcher entertained without becoming too stupid to bear.

The Blu Ray release comes with a healthy array of extras with deleted scenes and special effects featurettes on how to build a beaver. It also has cast auditions and behind the scenes goodies.

It’s quite possible that Zombeavers could quickly gain a cult status along with the likes of sharknado.

So watch this space for more Zombie beaver action in the future, because we all know in films like this, dead animals won’t stay dead for long.
