Zun Zun Egui Return With Stunning New Track

Like the freakish love child of postrock, industrial and afropop, Zun Zun Egui‘s new track ‘I Want You To Know’ shudders to life today.

A menacing and gothic offering from the Bristol quintet, Mauritian guitarist and singer Kushal Gaya’s caustic vocals pepper the track with exhortations, whoops and yelps that lend a tribal, animalistic take to this heady mix of rock and free-jazz fusion, grounded in DIY and world music culture.

Produced by Andrew Hung of Fuck Buttons, their new album “Shackles’ Gift” is released 26th January 2015 on Bella Union.

“Shackles’ Gift” is a British rock record made by a British group” says front man Kushal, but admits “that the first sparks of its creation started flying when ZZE visited Mauritius in March 2013”.

Zun Zun Egui will be performing in London in November, showcasing tracks from the new record.

Tuesday 18 November – LONDON – The Shacklewell Arms
