‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ by the Baha Men has been named the UKs favourite pet related song, a new poll has found, which quizzed more than 600 members of the public about their favourite pet pop song.
‘Who Let The Dogs Out’, which made it to number two in the charts when it was released in 2000, scored 21% of the vote. Almost a fifth voted for the Elvis Presley classic, ‘Hound Dog’ bringing it in second place.
Honourable mentions go to Tom Jones’ 1965 hit, ‘What’s New Pussycat’, Kate Bush’s ‘Hounds of Love’ and ‘Rabbit’ by Chaz and Dave.
One man who took part in the survey commented: “I can remember being really irritated by ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ when it first hit the charts all those years ago. But thinking about it now, it has to be the most iconic song about pets.”
