Leeds based Menace Beach are set to release their debut album Ratworld on 19th January 2015 via Memphis Industries, and have just announced that they will be embarking on their first ever UK headline tour. To celebrate, they’ve shared a brand new song, ‘Blue Eye’.
Coming on like the Pixies after a tubful of Valium, this slow burning number creeps anxiously towards a delectably tense and fuzzy ending that hums with high pitched feedback and a tinge of wistful regret.
” ‘Blue Eye’ is very personal to me,” explains Liza Violet. “Its working title was ‘This Is My Song’ because I wouldn’t let anyone else near it! I suppose lyrically there are a lot of feelings of insecurity in there, and of questioning yourself and searching for some sort of self worth. It felt like a healthy process to make something exactly how I wanted it to be.”
