Tonnes more news from some of the best festivals on the circuit this week in the run up to Christmas; with many early bird ticket deals coming to a close, it could be the perfect time to scoop a cheap weekend next year as an early present for the special music maniac in your life. We’ve got updates from Bloodstock, EDEN Sessions, Takedown Festival and Boardmasters…get stuck in!

Bloodstock Festival have revealed that heavy hitting Florida metalheads TRIVIUM will be Friday’s Main Stage headliners in a UK exclusive for 2015, joined by Swedish power metal titans SABATON and Portland, Oregon’s ‘dark folk’ metallers AGALLOCH who also join the bill for the Sunday. Trivium front man Matt Heafy raves, “The UK is where the world first took notice of TRIVIUM, and to pay true homage to that, TRIVIUM will be playing the most Metal festival that exists in the UK: BLOODSTOCK! We are thrilled beyond words to celebrate our first time at BLOODSTOCK with the the UK’s Metal elite.”

Eden Sessions

Elton John and his band will visit the Eden Project on Tuesday 16 June 2015 to perform at the Eden Sessions as part of his European tour. This will be Elton’s first performance in Cornwall for 30 years. The piano maestro said: “I am very pleased that we will be able to fit the Eden Project into our tour schedule next year. The last time I played the Cornwall area was in 1985 and that was just too long ago! My band and I have been enjoying playing summer festivals the past couple of years, and we expect great things from this one as well. It promises to be a fantastic time.”

Takedown Festival

Fightstar man Charlie Simpson has been announced for Takedown Festival 2015 alongside the already announced Mallory Knox. Following on from a solo acoustic tour of the UK in January and February 2015, the Fightstar front man will be gracing the main stage at the festival.

Boardmasters

The UK’s biggest surf and music festival revealed that its first headline act to perform at the event in 2015 will be chart topping dance act, Rudimental. The band said this about their future Boardmasters performance: “We had an amazing time when we played Boardmasters a few years ago! We can’t wait to come back next year and celebrate our second album with everyone!”
