05.01.2015 – Festival News Round Up

Bloody Christmas eh? It comes in like a wrecking ball of gluttony and then sods off leaving you broken and battered, slouched over your desk in January with a fistful of regret and your dreams in tatters. Happy New Year!

On the plus side, we’re back to keep you up to date with the latest developments on the 2015 festival circuit so you can start planning that next much needed break:

Manchester Punk Festival

To kick off 2015 we have an update of some of the bands playing this year’s Manchester Punk Festival. Leagues Apart, Muncie Girls, Hindsights, Boston Manor, Simmer, Beat The Red Light and Holiday all join the bill, alongside acoustic stage performers Speed Dinosaurs, Tim Loud of Bootscraper fame and Skank Agenda.

The festival will be spread over 5 venues across Manchester. Friday will see two evening gigs; one at Sound Control and the other at Ducie Bridge. During the day the main event will be held across two stages at Sound Control with an acoustic stage across the road at the Thirsty Scholar. To round the Saturday off we will have two aftershow parties down the road from Sound Control; one at Joshua Brooks and the other at Retro Bar.

Tickets are now available for £13 from the TNS webstore.

Hevy Fest 2015

New Jersey mathcore titans THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will return to Hevy Fest next year after laying waste to the main stage back in 2011. Also joining them for the 2015 edition are progressive metallers MONUMENTS, post-hardcore heroes VALES, Scottish powerhouse GRADER, underground favourites UP RIVER, local leviathan OHHMS and Brighton-based bruisers COLLISIONS. With over 50 bands to be revealed over the coming months, there’s plenty more hardcore, punk and metal to come.
