Introducing: Troyka

You might need to bring an open mind along for the ride with Troyka, and maybe a new hat, because your brain is about to expand under the intrinsic technicality behind this heady and at times caustic blend of jazz, trip-hop and ambient glitch. You can stream ‘Life Was Transient’, the first track taken from their new album “Ornithophobia” below.

The title for their new record was inspired by guitarist Chris’ fear of birds and marks the fruition of five years’ worth of musical experimentation.

This unpredictably meandering soup of aural textures and polyrhythms is at times maddening but often enthralling; it’s impossible to tell where their songs are going next, other than knowing it’s in a completely unexpected direction.

Their third studio album “Ornithophobia” is out on 26th January on Naim Jazz.
