Ones To Watch 2015: Flo Morrissey

With a much-coveted support slot with The Staves just around the corner, Flo Morrissey has planted herself firmly on our Ones To Watch list for this year with her debut single, Pages of Gold, released on 31st March.

The 20 year old Londoner releases her debut album on Glassnote Records later this year, having spent time recording with Noah Georgeson (Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Cate Le Bon) in Los Angeles.

Her timeless San Francisco sound merges the best of 60’s Americana with the sweeping orchestral backing of Shirley Bassey, though admittedly there’s much less of a diva in Morrissey and more of an understated grandeur and gentle wisdom that makes her a scintillating prospect.

With the right crowd in the palm of her hand on The Staves tour, this could be the springboard that sees her moving on to much bigger and better things.
