ABCs Of Death 2 Review

abcsIt’s as easy as 1, 2, 3… Well 26 anyway. Another round of 26 short horror films squeezed into under a couple of hours with only the alphabet to keep them linked together.

This second helping of the gory alphabet is a continuation of what fans loved/loathed from last time. 26 directors have each picked a letter of the alphabet, come up with a word that starts with that letter and then formed their horror short around said word.

Often it is gory, often it is sick, far too often nothing makes sense, and not very often is it coherent. Live action, animation and even Doll figures are used across an unholy blend of directorial styles.

Sadly there just isn’t enough segments that are any good to make the experience much of a joy to watch.

The film then ultimately suffers from exactly the same issue of the previous instalment. 26 films are simply too much for the brain to restart on. The quality is simply not up there in terms of a hit/miss ratio. There are way too many misses, and not even remotely enough stand out shorts to warrant the project in the first place. A few up and coming or name directors for sure – but this is not the work they will be remembered for.
