Video of the Day: Dan Deacon – When I Was Done Dying
Another day, another sublime Dan Deacon track and video – we’ll have whatever this guy’s having, because he keeps getting better and better.
The beautiful new visuals for ‘When I Was Done Dying’ were directed and animated by Glasswerk alumni Chad Van Gaalen and come courtesy of the Adult Swim channel on YouTube.
It’s a trippy and tribal take on the contemporary ambient soundscapes that Deacon specialises in, his poetic and hypnotic lyrics providing a backbone for the percussive xylophones and playful rhythms that make up the meat of this swirling single. The track is taken from the new album Gliss Riffer, out now on Domino.
