New independent UK-based rock record label Crooked Noise Records launched earlier this week as the first wave of signings to their roster were revealed. The label will be releasing a free download compilation EP on 26th May 2015 featuring a track from each of the artists.
The Cambridge-based imprint was founded by Tom Newman, who comments: “Crooked Noise Records was created out of a passion for truly independent music and helping to build sustainable careers for artists who aren’t afraid to put in the graft. Our first wave of bands is so diverse yet, to me, makes complete sense as we all share the same common set of values and goals. All four bands have killer releases dropping in 2015, so keep ‘em peeled!”
Amongst the first wave of bands to be announced on the CNR roster are Gloucester hard-punks BLACK ART, Merseyside alt-rock outfit F O E S, Banbury metallers I Cried Wolf and ambient alternative quartet V / V E G A from Bedfordshire.
Joe Danher, guitaris of FOES comments: “We’ve been sat on these songs for the best part of a year, so we’re really glad to have teamed up with Crooked Noise for this release. The writing and recording process for these five tracks really helped us develop and refine our sound. It’s the culmination of a lot of hard work.”
