Hack quartet Leisure have just released ‘Flight’ – the lead single from their new 3-track EP ‘Falling’ – produced by Scrimshire, well-known for his thriving indie label Wah Wah 45s (Hackney Colliery Band, the Resonators).
A melancholic yet extremely hooky alt-RnB track, ‘Flight’ combines shades of Banks and Jessie Ware, plus the energy of cult 80s band Loose Ends. Leisure’s killer live sound is well-matched by Scrimshire’s pristine production, supplying an upbeat, bass heavy vibe as singer Beth Horak-Hallett’s soaring vocals weave a path between plucky synths and sparkling guitars.
