Ever wondered what it might sound like if Vangelis covered Led Zepellin classic The Immigrant Song and it got added to the Bladerunner soundtrack? Yeah, us too.
Thankfully, Irish songwriter SOAK has basically done just that and is now sharing the track online. Recorded as part of Fearne Cotton’s final week at BBC Radio 1, Bridie performed at Big Weekend over the bank holiday on a bill featuring the likes of Taylor Swift and Foo Fighters.
Her debut album, ‘Before We Forgot How To Dream’, is released on 1st June via Rough Trade, and the songwriter comments:
“People grow up and nobody believes in Magic anymore, or you’re told to lower your expectations and that certain behaviour isn’t appropriate. This album is definitely about that time when you believed a bit more in things.”
