Live session: Department M – Bleak Technique

Leeds duo, Department M, have released an exclusive Anthologies Session live video for their new single ‘Bleak Technique’ which is released as a limited edition 7” vinyl on 7th August via independent label Hide & Seek Records and can be pre-ordered here.

Alongside a pair of co-headline dates with Post War Glamour Girls in August, they are also appearing at a free entry show at Birthdays in Dalston, London on 10th October.

The new video sees front man Owen Brinley performing a haunting, stripped back solo version of the title track from the forthcoming single live at Lord Whitney HQ, filmed and recorded by Sean Gledhill. Removing much of the synthesised and driving rhythmic elements from the original, Brinley’s sparse and insightful song writing is laid bare to devastating emotional effect.
