Jon Gomm Releases ‘Gloria’ Live Video

Acoustic guitar virtuoso and viral success story Jon Gomm has revealed a brand new video for ‘Gloria’ – the first track to be taken from his forthcoming ‘Live In The Acoustic Asylum’ album which is set for release on 8th September via his own label, Performing Chimp.

The first of nine new videos to come from the Live In The Acoustic Asylum sessions, Jon explains of the inspiration behind the single; “Gloria was my first proper girlfriend, I was about sixteen. When I was a kid our world was tribal, you had to be either a “townie”, or a “mosher”, or you were nothing. Gloria was a townie, I was a mosher. So it was a forbidden love, crossing the mosher/townie divide, frowned upon by friends and even family, very much like the situation of Romeo and Juliet. Except that Gloria’s family was more… violent than Juliet’s family. It’s a country song, really, and a waltz; the most romantic form of music as yet discovered by mankind.”

Jon also appears in a brand new television series, Guitar Star, featuring as a mentor for the show which also stars the likes of Tony Iommi, Rodrigo Y Gabriella, Milos Karadaglic, Lee Ritenour, Paco Pena and judges Nitin Sawnhey, Helen Sanderson and Huey Morgan.
