Following triumphant slots at Reading and Leeds Festivals late last month, Bingley rock family affair Marmozets have just announced they will no longer be touring the US later this year after a knee injury sustained by front woman Becca Macintyre.
This isn’t the first time Macintyre has been plagued by knee problems – you can watch a hair-raising video of her dislocating her knee live on stage in 2012 below, although on that occasion she re-socketed the joint herself and continued with the set, obviously.
The band have been replaced on all dates by The Color Morale.
In a statement on their official website, the band said:
“We are very sorry to announce that due to a serious knee injury requiring surgery sustained by Becca we have had to cancel our tour dates with Nothing More and Turbowolf – plus our headline dates and festival appearances – in the US this September/October.
Becca has been advised by doctors that playing these dates could cause future complications for her down the line, so we’ve taken the very difficult decision to pull out of the tour.
Apologies to our American fans, we’ll be back very soon – Nothing More and Turbowolf will still be appearing as planned.
– Marmozets x”
