Introducing: Great Collapse

With an all-star punk and hardcore cast of members including Thomas Barnett of Strike Anywhere on vocals, Great Collapse’s visceral debut full-length ‘Holy War’ is set for release on 2nd October via End Hits Records and there’s a new track from the record streaming, along with a lyric video which you can check out below..

Great Collapse’s line-up also includes former Rise Against guitarist Chris Chasse, Set Your Goals bass player Joe Saucedo, Death By Stereo/Nations Afire drummer Todd Henning and guitarist Tom Arnott (At Risk/Love Equals Death).

Barnett muses on the concept of the song: “To draw out the idea that that there are cornerstones of conflict, flashpoints of each decade … little historical moments that spoke truth to power and the whirlwinds that came after … In the face of relentless culture engineering, capitalism’s colonisation of representation, weaponized imagery, and even how we relate with history itself. It’s kind of an attempt at a lyrical collage of breaking moments in history or culture. ‘1970’s were made in Hong Kong’ Is a song by Flux Of Pink Indians, a Crass Records band. Starting there, with gratitude and a mission, this song tracks the subtle and spectacular moments that either subverted or fueled the dominant agenda of isolation and passivity. It’s our choice to break the glass and resist.”

The band will tour Europe with Boysetsfire, Silverstein, Rise Against, Refused, Matt Davies (Funeral For A Friend) and Antillectual in October 2015.
