A Quick Chat With Alicewell

We caught up with Swedish rockers Alicewell to find out more about their new EP ‘Young Hearts’ out now, their home town of Eskilstuna, some of their hopes for 2016 and more…

When we first started playing music…
As a band we started around 2012. Personally, when we were all around 12 years old, give or take a few years!

If we had to choose a new name for the band it would be Just My Luck because…
We always seem to fight our battles uphill. That’s something we’ve grown accustomed to by now though and it really makes the profit more enjoyable in the end.

We knew we were on to something when…
When we first looked each other in the eyes… no, not really! We knew we had something going the first time we scheduled a recording session together though, we basically found our own sound immediately, it was really cool.

Our biggest non-musical influences is…
Probably something as cheesy as our family members? They’re always there supporting what we do, and that means a lot to us. And I think they’re our biggest influences outside of music. Also, Ronald McDonald.

We’re most proud of…
All the work we’ve put in our work and we take great pride in everything we release.

Our ideal support slot would be…
It would probably be something along the lines of You Me At Six or Young Guns or why not Paramore?!

Something we haven’t achieved yet which we’d like to is…
Going on a US tour, supporting a great band that we like and really soaking in the American lifestyle!

Our favourite places to hang out are…
The studio is always fun to hang out in! But when we get tired of that, finding a great burger place or just chilling with some FIFA is always great!

We can’t stop listening to…
You can never have enough of English rock bands! Recently Lower Than Atlantis latest album have been on repeat many times! Or the new Bring Me The Horizon album. That one is sick.

We’re not ashamed to admit that…
Some of us have only tried Nandos once!

If we could wave a magic wand and make anything in the world happen it would be…
Great success and all the money in the world! Of course…but seriously as cheesy as it might sound, it would be quite awesome to just be able to live on our music, doing what we love, writing and playing live.

Someone you might not have heard of that you should check out is…
Either Alive Again, great pals of ours from the Netherlands. Or our dudes from Manchester, Lost Atlanta. Both of those bands are going places and we’re happy to call them our mates.
