Track of the Day: TACOCAT – I Hate The Weekend

Missing some sunshine in the dark winter months? Grab yourself a big ole helping of TACOCAT (which is tacocat spelled backwards, for those paying attention – bonus points for palindrome usage guys) and their infectious new single ‘I Hate The Weekend’ and all will be forgotten.

The track is taken from their latest album ‘Lost Time’, which is due April 1st via Hardly Art with the band are set to tour the UK later this year.

Riding high on the resurgent wave of feminism that’s sweeping the globe and bringing a new wave of righteous radical women back to the forefront of music, they bring a much-needed dose of light-hearted-ness and bubblegum fun to punk proceedings. Forget the cliché of serious-faced politicos throwing around the same old arguments, bring Tacocat into your life and join the 21st Century.

“Women,” lead singer Emily Nokes jokes. “They’re just like us!”

Lost Time will be out on LP, CD, digital, and cassette formats on April 1st, 2016.

Tour dates:

2. May UK, Nottingham / JT Soar
3. May UK, Edinburgh / Electric Circus
4. May UK, Glasgow / Broadcast
5. May UK, Cardiff / The Moon Club
6. May UK, Brighton / Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar / (Free)
