Our Local Scene: Values

We caught up with melodic metal newcomers VALUES who release their ‘Broken Nation’ EP on the 19th February 2016 via Ghost Music to find out more about their local scene in Leeds. The band will play an EP release show on the 19th February in their hometown of Leeds at The Key Club. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/Valuesofficialuk/

The Bands:

Adore//Repel

“Our friends in Adore//Repel are undeniably talented and put on an explosive live show. The atmosphere their music creates is like no other and we urge you that if they are playing a gig near you that you go check them out, you will not be disappointed! If you’re a fan of music with passion then this is the band for you.”

Lost Ground

“For a while now these guys have brought something new to the table – especially in the local scene – and all of us have been mesmerised, left wondering why this band aren’t massive yet. Incredible song writing aptitude and amazingly talented, yet so humble about their abilities.”

Keeper

“Another band that really step their game up when it comes to live shows. It’s music that really keeps you on your toes whilst bringing a fresh sound to the Leeds scene; and they really pack a punch. The development of Courtney’s vocals over the years has been great to observe and it makes us proud to be a part of the Leeds music scene when bands like Keeper bring something as unique as they do to the mix.”

Worldeater

“If you’re a fan of downtempo/deathcore then these guys are the ones to be watching. Our friends/former band mates in Worldeater are tearing a new one in the UK scene and we are looking forward to sharing the stage with them for our EP release show!”

The Venues:

The Key Club – “whether it’s catching our favourite bands or on a drunken night out around Leeds, The Key Club is nearest thing to home in the City Centre. We are excited to smash our EP release show on Friday 19th February!”

Brudenell social club – “This place creates the best atmosphere for post rock/emo of anywhere in Leeds. Friendly staff and a great sound for the size of the venue, it cannot be faulted.”

O2 Academy Leeds – “When we want to steer away from metal or band orientated music, we head to the O2 for drum and bass nights and the atmosphere is absolutely electric. We feel blessed to have so many great venues so close by!”

The Local Hang Outs:

The Works – “Some of us enjoy a skating or rollerblading session down at The Works in Leeds from time to time, it really is an awesome place to practice and have a good laugh with the guys!”

Humpit – “Purely Vegan, Humpit has the best pittas around and the friendliest of staff. If you are ever in the Corn Exchange in Leeds then go grab one!”

Blue Rinse – “Located near the corn exchange, the majority of the band go there when it comes to buying colourful threads and wavy garments. There’s absolutely tonnes of choice for clothing with the best staff, could easily spend half a day in there!”
