Leeds-based electronic experimental noise pop project Department M have revealed their new single ‘Air Exchange’.
The track is the latest to be taken from their new album ‘Deep Control’ which is released as a limited edition 12” vinyl on 18th March 2016 via independent label Hide & Seek Records.
“I feel I let my influences leech into ‘Deep Control’ without any fear of plagiarism” comments Brinley on the album “The musical cornerstones are there to pick out if you wish – The big romantic feel of Chromatics ‘Kill For Love’, Bowie’s odd chord shifts and the guitar of Robert Fripp on Scary Monsters (the solo at the end of Deep Control Pt.2), 90s Pop-House (Snowfox’s ecstatic vocal-hooks throughout the album), Post-Punk style funk bass (Bleak Technique) and 00s lofi-beats ala Metronomy and Hot Chip on tracks such a Linear and Jazz Collapse.”
The new album ‘Deep Control’ is released on 12” vinyl & digital download 18th March via Hide & Seek Records.
