Orchestral art rockers The Red Paintings are in the midst of an ambitious world tour in support of the release of their debut album ‘The Revolution Is Never Coming’.
After suffering a near-fatal seizure, visionary performer Trash McSweeney now sees colour in music and has set out to share with the world the ideas he has seen and felt. By taking to his guitar, piano and notebook, The Red Paintings were officially born upon the dawn of the new millennium…
Based in London and Los Angeles – and having been fortunate enough to already tour much of the globe – The Red Paintings are a five-piece group (guitar, violin, cello, bass and drums) whose sound evokes everything from child-like lullabies of the future, to tearing, biting, alternative-rock numbers. Their appeal reaches baroque-pop steam-punks, metal-heads, indie-rock fanatics, and beyond. They incorporate multimedia performance art wherever possible and seek submissions from local artists who paint the band’s live energy onstage in real time. With costumes, conceptual stage shows, live painting and human canvases their performance combines sound and visuals to create an experience that stimulates the senses and minds of the audience.
The Red Paintings also maintain a strong social consciousness, which is demonstrated in the messages throughout their music and stage shows. The band works closely alongside doctors and experts to help their fan base with the ongoing battle with youth suicide and they frequently collaborate with organisations within the animal rights community to help educate and raise awareness about animal cruelty.
The debut album ‘The Revolution Is Never Coming’ was 5 years in the making and features a 35-piece orchestra, 22-piece choir, harp players, French horn, Theremin and more across 13 tracks of biting, futuristic alternative rock. Recorded and mixed with the late Bryan Carlstrom (Alice in Chains, Rob Zombie) in world-class studios around the globe, the band raised donations from fans all over the world to create their vision and have received critical acclaim for their creative vision and ambitious scope.
The band’s heavy touring schedule has been driven by the release of their debut album and latest singles/music videos ‘You’re Not One Of Them’ and ‘Wasps’. Both singles have charted in UK, Europe, USA and Australia.
