We caught up with Lock & Key vocalist Rich Lardner to find out more about the Birmingham hardcore crew’s hometown scene as they release their new album ‘Peaceless’ on Crooked Noise Records today:
THE VENUES
The Rainbow (cellar)
“We played out first and only headline show to date in The Rainbow Cellar. No stage, just on the floor and it was absolutely crazy. The sound was on point and the vibe for the whole show was so cool, I’ve got a lot of nice memories in that room!”
The Asylum
“Sadly I’ve never played here with L&K, but I did an album release show their for my old band. The room is dope and they have a lot of cool stuff going on there, definitely a place I want to get the chance to play again!”
The Flapper
“Another great intimate venue, this one has a stage! We played here way back when we first started with The Mongoloids and Broken Teeth.”
THE BANDS

Not technically a ‘band’ but what he does is great. The song writing is second to none and I like that he’s come from a heavy background and done something totally polar opposite! FFO: City & Color etc
Myth City – https://www.facebook.com/Mythcityuk/?fref=ts
Great live band, they do a rage against the machine style mixed with modern day rap. It’s a very cool live show to watch!
FFO: Rage Against The Machine etc
An Elegy – https://www.facebook.com/ANELEGY/?fref=ts
Heavy metalcore which are killing it at the moment in the UK. Local lads and are lucky enough to have played with each other at our last Brum show. One to watch out for!
FFO: Bury Tomorrow
