We caught up with London trio 48Hours recently – who’ve just released their debut full length record ‘Expectations’ – to find out more about the local bands and venues that make up their scene. Taking influence from American rock and add their own dash of British grit, thinking Bullet For My Valentine meets Three Days Grace will put you on a direct track to their sound.
THE BANDS
Amaryllis
An awesome London based pop rock band. They have their debut album coming out at the end of April. It’s catchy pop rock with huge riffs!
Feral Sun
We had these guys play on our album launch, they’re one of the best heavy rock acts in the country. They’re one of the more experienced bands we know, they’ve toured with Skindred, performed at Hard Rock Hell, and generally sound incredible!
My Deadly Secret
These guys are pretty new as a band, but their members have been on the scene for a while. The played with us in February and we’ll be hitting the Camden Barfly with them again on May 1st. Their musicianship is top notch and the song writing ability is of the highest order. Definitely a band that is going to do big things in the near future!
THE VENUES:
“We live on the border of London and Kent, so we don’t have any local venues of any real note! We generally call London our home as that’s where we play our ‘local’ shows these days!”
The Barfly – Camden
We love playing at the Camden Barfly, they always look after us and we’ve had some amazing nights there!
The Garage – Islington
A great venue for big and small bands; it has a great 150 cap room for bands of our level, and the main room holds about 600. We’ve seen some of our favourite bands play there over the years so it’s always a privilege to be a part of the venues history having played there numerous times ourselves!
