We’re very pleased to be premiering a gorgeous new track from Swiss duo Odd Beholder today – check out ‘Lighting’ in full below.
The song is the latest track – and title offering – to be taken from their new EP of the same name released on 13th May via Mouthwatering Records.
Daniela Weinmann (vocals, guitar, composition) and James Vargnese (production, e-bass, synths) founded their latest musical incarnation in a bomb shelter in Dietikon, Switzerland, in 2013. Poetic and darkly brooding, they specialise in a throbbing and yearning strain of electronica-tinged lofi indie with choir arrangements that range over three octaves and eerie field recordings thrown in for good measure.
Commenting on the influences behind their tracks, the band add cryptically: “The warmth of a mammal. The sound of the sea. A boy’s smile. When you truly behold something you become it, and when this happens, you disappear. Serenity. Patches of noise. The roaring sound of blood rushing through the veins. Introverts attracted by the limelight.”
