Building on the melodic and wistful foundations laid by previous single ‘Three Months’, Sheffield quartet Bayonet have just released their latest single ‘Everything’, this time exhibiting the punchier and more frenetic side to the band that’s evident in their stage presence. We caught up with singer Vince Ringrose to find out more about the band’s hometown:
THE BANDS
Alvarez Kings
“We’ve been listening to these boys for a few years now and welove the melodic pop tunes they write. ‘Tell Tale Heart’ is a banger.”
Starkins
“We’re lucky enough to be playing a gig with these boys on 21st May at The Plug, they’ve got some cracking tunes. ‘Paper Cuts’ is gonna get smashed on at any summer night BBQ I’m at this year!”
The Crookes
“I remember someone once asking me if I’d listened to The Crookes, and after stumbling across their track ‘Godless Girl’, they’re a band I still listen too today.”
THE VENUES
The Leadmill – “I’ve been watching bands in there since being a youngster!”
Plug – “After playing this venue a few times, we’ve fell in love with the place, it’s always got such a big atmosphere!”
The Harley – They’ve always got some good artists on in there, Benjamin Francis Leftwich played and it was an intimate enlightenment.
THE HANG OUTS
The Leadmill – “Again! They play the best music and sell cheap drinks!”
Lewis’ (our bands guitarist/singer) games room – “This is where the band initially started!”
West Street Live – “cause you can get blindo off a fiver in there!”
‘Everything’ is out now on Scruff Of The Neck Records
