Grime Godfather Wiley Announces Headline Roundhouse Show

Grime’s founding figure and one of the UK’s true pop culture personalities, Wiley is set to headline one of London’s largest venues next year, as he takes over The Roundhouse for a one-off show to match any live performance he’s given to date. Following the forthcoming release of his first album in two years, the creative head behind a genre that’s become the sound a generation will be showcasing tracks old and new from almost twenty years at the vanguard of modern urban music.

New album ‘The Godfather’ is set for release on the 4th November, with lead single ‘Can’t Go Wrong’ having solidified it’s place as a modern grime anthem at last week’s headline Koko performance, which saw Wiley joined onstage by the likes of Skepta, JME, Ice Kid and Chipmunk. ‘The Godfather’ sees Wiley back on a major label and back at the top of his game.

Having paved the way for international acts like Dizzee Rascal and Skepta fifteen years ago, Wiley has carved his own niche throughout a career that’s taken him from groundbreaking productions such as ‘Ice Rink’, ‘Igloo’ and ‘Avalanche’, through to massive crossover hits including ‘Wearing My Rolex’ and ‘Heatwave’. Bound to match last Friday’s unstoppable showcase for sheer energy levels, all eyes will be on the Godfather of Grime come the 9th February 2017.
