All Points East announces In The Neighbourhood its weekday programme of free activities in Victoria Park over four days between it’s All Points East Festival and APE Presents shows. With a focus on community involvement, activities will be run by incredible local organisations and suppliers. It is part of a dedicated drive to provide free content for local residents and the wider community and to support local businesses. The weekday programme take place during half term and on the Bank Holiday making this an ideal destination for families as well as fun-loving Londoners.
Bookending In The Neighbourhood, All Points East festival features headline performances from Bjork, The xx and LCD Soundsystem whilst the APE Presents… shows are headlined by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The National and Catfish And The Bottlemen.

Street Food Market curated by Sourced Market
Sourced Market are curating the street food market at In The Neighbourhood, a proud local business with its HQ in Tower Hamlets. Over 90% of the traders have deep, long-lasting links to the surrounding areas of East London and the makers and producers are passionate about delivering the best ever food experience at a UK festival. With culinary delights from around the world given an East London twist and British classics from local street food traders, all taste buds and dietary requirements are catered for in this dedicated market space.
Renowned local traders including Biff’s Jack Shack, Butchies London, Born N Raised, Ghetto Grillz, E8 Fish, Holy Cow, Kalimera and Makatcha will be on site to provide a varied menu for all visitors.
Pop Up Bars
In The Neighbourhood has an exciting range of pop up bars selling great refreshments from draft & craft beer to wine, spirits and cocktails, and a selection of soft drinks. Sit back, relax and enjoy the wide variety of entertainment in Victoria Park. Craft beer will come courtesy of local brewers Redchurch and Truman’s.
Free Outdoor Cinema
There will be films for all ages every day between Monday and Thursday with three free films screened each day. Films will be a mix of classics, new releases, family favourites and the best in world cinema. Film themes include All Points 80’s, All Points Musical and All Points Global World Cinema.
Free Short Films with Chisenhale Studios
Chisenhale Studios is an arts project supported by Tower Hamlets who will showcase Stop Play Record, a three-year initiative (2015-18), supported by Arts Council England and Channel 4, for young people aged 16–24 years who are interested in experimental film. In 2015 and 2016 Chisenhale Gallery commissioned filmmakers Ayo Akingbade and Raheela Suleman to produce two new short films as part of the Stop Play Record programme. Their films will be shown as part of the free outdoor cinema programme.
Free Live Music curated by Global Local
Each evening there will be free live music on the outdoor stage courtesy of Global Local. From Roma to rumba, Latin beats to Afro-funk, new folk to no folk, Global Local will bring the best emerging, culturally diverse musical talent the UK has to offer, with a strong focus on promoting acts based in Tower Hamlets and the surrounding East London areas. Full line up to be announced but will include sets from exciting local acts Dat Brass and Kasai Masai.
Free Creative Workshops with Hackney Arts
Hackney’s very own Hackney Arts will be popping up at the festival to bring their special brand of creative mischief. Setting up camp in their own technicolour tent, Hackney Arts will be running free drop-in creative workshops to ensure you get your arts fix and leave the field feeling inspired. With sessions from 3D drawing, henna design, making flower crowns, paper marbling, woodblock printing and more, you can drop-in any time and stay as long as you like to get your dose of arty festival fun.
Free Aerial Circus Performances and Workshops with Upswing
Have a go at aerial and acrobatics with Upswing… if you dare! Tower Hamlets Aerial circus company Upswing arrives at All Points East In The Neighbourhood to share how they blend aerial circus, theatre and dance together in a wonderful jumble that’ll have the audience gasping. Come along to see our free performances throughout each day and evening, then have a go in one of the free open workshops with professional circus artists.
Free Yoga Sessions with MoreYoga
Come and join Tower Hamlets MoreYoga for free open-air yoga sessions throughout the day. Full timetable to be released – will Include Rise & Shine Morning Flow, Family Yoga, HIIT Hop Yoga, Laughter Yoga and Glitter Yoga!
Free Spoken Word with Penned in the Margins
From small beginnings as a reading series in a converted railway arch in south London. Penned in the Margins has grown over the last decade into a respected, award-winning literary arts company producing new work live, in print and online. They will bring a compelling free programme of spoken word to Victoria Park.
Free Entertainment with Kazzum
Tower Hamlet’s Kazzum and Artist Arji Manuelpillai presents one-minute raps on his three-wheeled trike. This very merry rapper entertains and interacts with unsuspecting passers-by as he regales them with a personal rap, on the spot! He’ll bring smiles for free, making the ordinary extraordinary as he freestyles around.
Free Tennis Games with Tower Hamlets Tennis
Tower Hamlets Tennis is an East London social enterprise set up in 2012 to increase access to tennis in the East End of London. At All Points East In The Neighbourhood, they will be hosting a free-to-play scaled down tennis court, suitable for kids, families and adults to play together and have fun without the usual tennis strings attached!
Free Children’s Theatre with Half Moon
Join Tower Hamlets Half Moon Theatre for four days of free performances and storytelling. Watch a special performance interspersed with witty stories and interactive conversations with the special host AMARI HARRIS. No booking required.

Free workshop Small People, Big Protest is made by Coney with families. The grown-ups present big ideas about the world and leave us with their small people.
Free Children’s Arts Workshops with Stitches in Time
Tower Hamlets Charity Stitches in Time uses the arts to bring all kinds of people together. At All Points East In The Neighbourhood, we invite you and your family to roll up your sleeves and join our creative community. Each day we’ll be doing different, free workshops. Help us to construct then join our junk orchestra, create a turner prize-worthy recycled sculpture, and feature in our giant collage.
Free Children’s Storytelling Sessions with Museum of London Docklands
Meet Mandy the Mudlark who discovers the remains of a mysterious Roman face pot. Who did it belong to and what tales might it tell? Discover Roman myths as Mandy tells the tale of Little Old Boy by Geraldine McCaughrean. Presented by the Museum of London Docklands. These free sessions are aimed at children 5+ years old.
Free Children’s Football Workshops with Alive and Kicking and Colin Nell
Free football workshops on Monday and Tuesday will be facilitated by Tower Hamlets charity Alive and Kicking who make durable sports balls in Kenya, Zambia and Ghana, keeping adults in employment, helping children play, and raising health awareness through sport.
On Wednesday and Thursday, these will be facilitated by freestyle footballer Colin Nell who has worked with some of the biggest brand names in the world for over 10+ years and performed in front of over 90,000 people at live arenas at UEFA Champions League Finals, World Cups, European Championships and World Championships.
Shows are not to be missed and are renowned for their interaction and their ability to captivate audiences of all ages! We guarantee a footballing experience that is new and diverse and gives football a whole new perspective.
