Brighton-based alt-pop quartet ORCHARDS are delighted to announce that their new EP Losers/Lovers will be released on 6th July 2018 via Big Scary Monsters Records.
To celebrate the news, the band have released a typically colourful new video for the EPs lead single ‘Luv You 2’ which premiered at Noisey yesterday.
Speaking to Noisey about the video, frontwoman Lucy Evers said: “The story behind the lyrics is all about how it’s totally healthy to feel rejection or sadness, and about ultimately finding the power within yourself to say ‘fuck it, I don’t care what you think of me, I know I’m amazing’, so when working on the video (with our awesome videographer Dan Chase, who we collaborated with on our previous three videos) we wanted to play off that.
“Each location represents being stuck in the same mindset despite no longer being in the situation that put you there, and it takes being reminded of why you’re in that headspace in the first place (e.g. the flowers being handed to me) to come to the realisation that I no longer care about what that person thought of me. The throwing of the flowers at the end of the video symbolises me throwing away the fucks I used to give!”
The band have just finished a run of support dates with Minnesota trio Tiny Moving Parts across the EU and UK, with a swathe of festival appearances already confirmed for the summer.
