BRIT Award nominee and Mercury Prize-shortlisted singer-songwriter Jessie Ware today launches the eighth series of her acclaimed ‘Table Manners‘ podcast. The first guest of the series is Canadian television personality and Queer Eye’s resident food and wine expert Antoni Porowski who dishes on his new cookbook, his love of coffee, eating birthday cake for breakfast and starring on Queer Eye.
‘Table Manners‘ has enjoyed huge popularity since its inception in 2017. It shot straight to no.1 in the Itunes chart and saw the south Londoner win ‘Best New Voice’ at the 2018’s Audio Production Awards. The podcast has had over 8 million listeners.
Its success can be owed to its untraditional style – a shared experience of swapping great stories and engaging in great conversation, all whilst eating a home-cooked meal by Jessie and Lennie. The brilliance of this approach is that guests are caught off guard, they relax, the pressure is off. The last series saw Richard Curtis confess his addiction to Love Island, Sara Bareilles reveal her dirty takeaway, and Mark Ronson dish the details on working with pop-royalty – Lady Gaga. The show’s promise — “Oversharing guaranteed” — is certainly not fake news.
This past summer saw Jessie and Lennie premiere a special live recording of the podcast at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe festival where fans got to see an unfiltered, untouched and undeniable hilarious live recording at the Glided Balloon.
