Annie Mac announces first wave of speakers for AMP London Conference

Following the first wave of show announcements for AMP London 2020, Britain’s premier music tastemaker Annie Mac has announced the first speakers for the AMP London Conference held on Friday 6th March at Camden House. Tickets are on sale now, available from www.gigsandtours.com and https://www.anniemacpresents.com/london.

After 2019’s first ever AMP conference at Moth Club set the bar for stand out programming and panellists like Emily Eavis (Glastonbury Festival), Tom March (Polydor Records), Austin Daboh (Apple Music) & Ms Banks (Artist) tackling a diverse selection of topics, AMP will once again invite the music industry’s key artists, personalities and figureheads to tackle the most pertinent topics surrounding music through a selection of dynamic panel discussions, keynotes, interviews, debates, and workshops.

Attendees can expect an insight into today’s rapidly evolving industry through AMP’s conference as it aims to spotlight inspiring topics that ignite conversations surrounding the landscape of the industry and highlight what’s going on behind the scenes that will shape the future. There is also the opportunity to ask questions and network with key music players throughout the day. Off the back off launching his groundbreaking ‘Creative Differences’initiative the CEO of Universal Music UK & Ireland David Joseph will be joining the day’s events. The founder of crucial independent label Young Turks will appear alongside the managing director of Festival Republic Melvin Benn and co-founder of Music Declares Emergency who are all vital players tackling the environmental crisis through the music industry’s lens.

“This music industry of ours is changing rapidly, artists are taking control of their careers. The independent path has proven viable and streaming has democratised the consumption process, making commercial success up for grabs to anyone who wants to give it a go. It’s a really exciting time.

There are still, however, huge sticking points for me; the conservatism when it comes to gender representation; the lack of diversity through the top tiers of the industry; the lack of systematic procedure to protect artists when it comes to mental health; and the urgent need for action on the industry’s contribution to the environmental crisis. Come and join us, there is still much to discuss!” – Annie Mac

The first female to be at the helm of BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra’s rap show Tiffany Calver joins us to discuss making the music industry work for women, whilst presenter & broadcaster Maya Jama will be taking the stage too. What is both unique and stands out about the AMP London Conference is the way in which Annie can bring together a distinctive selection of individuals to tackle huge conversations alongside one another.

With further speakers and topics still to be added, AMP is truly cementing itself as the leading festival for music discovery and discussion curated by Annie Mac by providing a welcoming hub for all those engaged and interested in music through resonating with music fans and professionals alike.

The conference will be held in partnership with Music Week, the leading weekly magazine for the UK music industry, who we are delighted to announce as this year’s media partner.

Accompanying the conference are four days of unmissable live shows carefully curated by Annie Mac herself. The event will run from Wednesday 4th March until Saturday 7th March, bringing the best new talent in music, from a variety of genres to the capital’s most loved music venues.

Showcasing a broad range of the hottest upcoming and established artists and bands, across multiple genres, AMP LONDON will encompass a series of underplay shows with acts playing in venues far smaller than their usual tour stops. Artists featuring on these shows include Blossoms, Joy Crookes, Beabadoobee, The Big Moon, Arlo Parks, Inhaler and many more names to be announced very soon.
