TYCHO announce new album

After releasing their GRAMMY® Award-nominated album, ‘Weather’ last year, Tycho are back with a new album ‘Simulcast’which is due Feb 28th via Mom + Pop x Ninja Tune.

Simulcast‘ features highly anticipated, bespoke instrumental reworkings of ‘Weather’ album tracks, previously vocal-led by singer-songwriter Saint Sinner. Tycho have taken the essence of the originals and recorded new, alternative versions of those recordings, creating new material from those much loved tracks. This is an unmissable release for any Tycho fan.

Speaking about the new record, Scott Hansen of Tycho said A Simulcast is the transmission of a program across different mediums and in different languages. With these two albums I wanted to present the same ideas in two languages, one more literal and the other more open to interpretation. Simulcast expands on the concepts laid out in Weather but shifts into the abstract with instrumental soundscapes in place of lyrics, opening up a visual space and translating the message into a new language.”

Lead single “Outer Sunset is named after the beach community in San Francisco where Scott Hansen spent a lot of time during the recording of the LP.

Weather’, available now on Mom + Pop Music x Ninja Tune, was recently honored with a prestigious GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Dance/Electronic Album,” marking Tycho’s second consecutive nod in that category. The follow-up to 2016’s chart-topping, GRAMMY® Award-nominated ‘Epoch’,‘Weather’ is now followed with the band’s new album ‘Simulcast’.

Tycho is currently bringing ‘Weather’ and ‘Simulcast’  to the people with an extensive world tour set to travel the planet well into 2020 touching down in 16 countries. This tour sees Tycho incorporating live vocals for the first time ever, revealing a powerful new human energy to its already extraordinary live presentation. Longtime Tycho collaborators Zac Brown (bass and guitar), Rory O’Connor (drums), and Billy Kim (keyboards, guitar and bass) join Scott Hansen on all dates, with singer-songwriter Saint Sinner (a.k.a. Hannah Cottrell) traveling as the first-ever Tycho touring vocalist. Mild Minds and Com Truise will serve as special guests in North America while Poolside support on all European headline dates through March 2020.
