PELA ON A ROLL WITH ‘REVERIE’

It;’s only a matter of weeks since South London duo PELA caught our attention with their sultry, spooky second single ‘South Of’. Now they’re at it again, dropping another brand new single without warning this week.

‘Reverie’ has a bit more of a summer vibe – if anyone remembers summer – with cool saxophones and a laid back beat, it’s like sipping a cold drink in the shade of a blazing heatwave. But although there’s an illusion of removed control, beneath the surface there’s heartbreak and melancholy aplenty going on.

The band aka singer Hannah Coombes and keyboard/programming wizard Olly Shelton, met as members of the Roundhouse Choir and it shows – you can hear a real musicality going in beyond the sheen of smart electropop. Can’t wait to hear more.
