LATITUDE ANNOUNCES LEWIS CAPALDI, BASTILLE & SNOW PATROL

This weekend marks what should have been the start of a glorious Latitude 2020. This summer may not be as expected, but festival fans can rejoice as the multi-award-winning festival will return to the picturesque grounds of Henham Park, Suffolk, on 22nd-25th July 2021 with headliners Lewis Capaldi, Bastille and special guests Snow Patrol topping a diverse bill where music meets the arts in a full-on cultural explosion. Weekend and day tickets are on sale on Monday 20th July at 9am here

Things have been a little quiet this year. It’s been tough without the music, without the laughs, without the wonder. So Latitude is getting ready to make 2021 the best year yet!  Festival organisers are thrilled to announce a refreshed programme and emboldened vision retaining everything you loved about Latitude and much more.

Double BRIT Award winner Lewis Capaldi makes his Latitude debut as one of the UK’s biggest music success stories. In just one year after its release in May of 2019,  Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent was certified triple platinum in the UK and has spent a whopping 60 weeks in the Top Ten. The album spawned such singles as Grace, Hold Me While You Wait, and Someone You Loved, which topped the charts in the US and the UK. It also earned Capaldi accolades on both sides of the Atlantic, including two BRIT awards and a Grammy nomination. A festival superstar, his live performances are legendary and, with the possible premiere of brand new material from his highly anticipated second album, this is going to be unmissable!!

Brit Award winners Bastille also make their Latitude debut as headliners. The cinematic performance will see the band perform a selection of songs from their three UK Top 10 studio albums Bad Blood, Wild World and Doom Days and material from their eagerly anticipated fourth album. Pioneers of hook-heavy hits such as Pompeii, Marshmello collaboration Happier, and Quarter Past Midnight, the four-piece continue to cement their reputation as one of the world’s most captivating live bands renowned for their cutting edge multi-sensory shows.

Bastille’s Dan Smith said,

“We’ve wanted to play and go to Latitude for such a long time, so we’re really excited to have the chance to be there next year after everyone’s year away from gigs. It’s our only British festival gig of the summer and we’re thrilled that it’ll be at Latitude in such brilliant company”.

Snow Patrol  make a momentous return to the Latitude in the coveted Sunday afternoon slot. The band who headlined the inaugural Latitude back in 2006,  were forced to cancel their slot at Latitude in 2019 due to illness.  2021 will see the band perform back on The Obelisk Stage. This momentous performance will celebrate 25 years in the business. Expect festival-sized anthems with hits such as Crack The Shutters, Run, and Chasing Cars.

Snow Patrol said,

“We are thrilled to perform our Reworked set (featuring 14 musicians no less) as special guests at next year’s festival. Having played the first ever Latitude in 2006 we were gutted that injury forced us to cancel our slot last year and obviously with all festivals cancelled this year we’re so glad to be on the bill for next year. Thank you Latitude for having us back once again. It’s a wonderful festival and we’re delighted to be involved.”

An eclectic host of acts across Latitude’s music stages await revelers with further announcements coming soon. Something for everyone would be an understatement – this year’s line up will be mind-blowing.

Latitude has never been just about the music – it’s a culturally enriching experience and this year’s comedy, theatre and arts roster will be announced soon.  Latitude attendees can expect the biggest names on the comedy circuit, cultural visionaries, poets,  podcasters, and performance artists in an arts bill without boundaries.

Latitude’s new dates means that the festival now falls within the school holidays. Families looking for quality time together need go no further than Latitude’s Enchanted Garden, where they’ll get the chance to make some magic of their own including the inspiring Family Socials which pack weekend mornings with family-friendly comedy, live music, dance and theatre.

Teens who want to ditch the oldies and be among their friends can head to the Inbetweeners Area with music and fashion workshops, the Access to Music Stage and how-tos on gaming, coding and VR. On site you can expect forest and treetop adventures, zip wires and climbing nets.

Next year, more than ever is the time to reconnect with arts and music, reunite with family and friends and recharge with nature making Latitude 2021 the most important edition in our 15-year history.
